Raphael Levy

Raphaël Levy is a French Director based in Paris who grew up between Kenya and France. He began working as a photographer before discovering, whilst shooting documentaries in Ethiopia and India, that he had a unique ability to understand and portray the intimacies and truths of peoples’ lives. Armed with his natural eye for art direction and after honing the discipline of documentary storytelling, Raphaël began exploring the world of fashion and beauty, directing adverts for Dior, Lacoste, Shiseido, Garnier & Schweppes, to name a few. His 18 film portraits based around the French Olympic team members, gave him the opportunity to blend both universes through sport. Raphaël tells stories about people with a strong visual aesthetic and is currently expanding his work into the world of narrative & fiction.
